Software Development isn't what we do. It's who we are.
Scientific disciplines like architecture, engineering, chemistry and physics have evolved over hundreds of years. Computer Science, by comparison, is in its infancy, being for all intents and purposes less than 40 years old. It is no wonder that the methods and tools we use to create software are being reinvented every few years.

As our understanding about software engineering grows, we will be able to generate technologies with higher adaptability and a greater life span. Basic XML, for example, will prevail for an additional 20 years or more as a useable format. Given its age and limited capability, it is a miracle that HTML has survived for so long as the standard markup for the Internet. That, however, is about to change.

There are a great many demands being placed on the Web and the Web client. These demands originate from technical and engineering disciplines, entertainment and advertising, document and information management, data visualization and gaming. The desire is for integrated 2D and 3D graphics and animation, printing support, searching capability, flexibility and interactivity.

The current soup of public and private Internet technologies has evolved into a band aid fix. The long term solution is a single integrated language that combines and supports all of the requirements demanded of the Web and the Web client. This is the realm of XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) and the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) by Microsoft.

Mobiform has become an early adopter of XAML and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Mobiform has produced exceptional technology around these standards, created products that are used by thousands of web and software developers and licensed our expertise into the products of top Fortune 500 companies.
